Have You Seen Spring?

I’m officially posting an Amber Alert for Spring.

Last seen: Approximately June 25th, 2008, 3:30 p.m.

Identifying Details: Daytime Highs of 22 degrees (Celsius), Lows of 10.  Blue skies and occasional rain showers

Often Accompanied With: Warm breezes, buzzing bumblebees, gentle scent of flowers blooming, green grass and children giggling

Other Information: Spring was expected to arrive on or around March 22, 2009 although most believed that April 15th was a more realistic date.  Spring does have a tendency to be late so this was not unexpected.  However, Spring can always be counted upon to arrive by the Tuesday after May Long Weekend (Victoria Day).

It is feared that delaying Spring much longer will result in grumpy children, frustrated parents and disappointing garden yields.  Local farmers are also concerned as Jack Frost has been spotted several times in May with devastating effect on young plants.

Amber Alert: Spring may have been kidnapped by the evil Global Warming. Global Warming is suspected to be responsible for melting polar ice caps, hurricanes and smog alerts, though he denies involvement.  At his last press conference, Global Warming presented receipts for airline travel on all major hurricane dates in an attempt to prove he was “out of town”.

If you encounter Global Warming, do not attempt to approach him.  He is armed with deadly ozone-depleting gas and not afraid to use it.  Instead, grab a shovel, plant a tree and slather on protective sunscreen.

Please report all sightings of Spring to this blog.  We are attempting a covert rescue operation soon & could use your help.  Spring must be returned at all costs.

  1. lol. Cute post, sorry to here Spring went AWOL in your neck of the woods. It seems she ditched us down here in Florida too, since we’ve been pitched straight in to Summer with all its mucky, humid glory. It’s been raining for the past two days, good for the grass, a pain in the ass for a chauffeuring mom. 😉

  2. I love this post. I too have been wondering where spring has run off to. We are having lots of heavy rains alternated with really unpredictable temps. One day it will be 80 and the next it will get down to the 40s at night. Such a pain, especially when dressing kids for school…Poor Danny gets so confused by the fact that one day I let him wear shorts and the next he is wearing a jacket.
